Citizens’ Perception of Smart Cities: A Case Study

The 21st century is considered to be “The Century of Cities”. By the end this century, over 80% global population expected living in urban areas. To become smart, a city should develop an approach services that will focus mainly on citizens primary beneficiaries offered by Smart City. In work, we present through survey 545 participants, citizens’ perception about smart concept and reveal Greek Cypriot level knowledge regards City’s actions, applications, elements. final results study revealed several interesting outcomes. Firstly, showed seem know better what “Smart City” compared citizens, secondly, large number participants do not believe any efforts have been made their order “smart” finally, most important challenges for development city, disclose cooperation private public sector biggest challenge needs tackled so as can move towards “smarter” future.
